Samba Setup (disk and printer sharing)

To open samba properties click: Main Menu System
Settings Server
Settings Samba
Server
(you need to enter root password when you not logged as root)
Pinux already did it for you, it shared folder /share
One thing that you may need to change is the workgroup field. It is your preference but fill with the same
workgroup at your neworking enviroment (both windows or linux).
VII. Printer Configuration (adding printer from windows/samba printer share)
To open printer properties click: Main Menu System
Settings Printing
(you need to enter root password when you not logged as root)


To add printer from your windows's printer share or other samba printer share:
New
Forward
Enter
any printer name and short discription, forward.
Selec
a queue type: Networked Windows (SMB), choose the computer and printer then click forward.
Click
Test Print if you need to make sure your new printer is working.

If
you need to configure Paper size/type or color mode press Edit.
Apply.
Action
– Quit.
VIII. Mouse Setup
To open mouse properties : Alt + F1 System
Settings Mouse
Here are 3 known mouse issues:
Kudzu
may not detect your whell (Scroll) PS2 mouse.
You must activate manualy, choose: Whell Mouse (PS/2)
Kudzu
may not detected serial mouse.
You must activate manualy, choose: 2 Button mouse (serial) and then define which COM port where your
mouse attached (look at picture below).
If
you want to replace Whell (Scroll) mouse (PS/2) with non scroll mouse (PS/2), you must switch your mouse
configuration into: 2 Button mouse (PS/2) before you phisicaly replace the old whell mouse
